Today Landon is 1345 grams…just 15 more to go before he is 3 pounds. He also continues to do well on his air flow, so they are lowering it to .2. Before we know it he will be off the cannula altogether. He continues to bottle feed and today he got the first taste of the vitamin enriched milk. He hated it and pursed his lips together in protest of eating. Eventually he drank the bottle, but not before spitting a lot of it out. It really was comical to watch. The breast feeding continues to be a challenge, but perhaps after the vitamin-bottle experience he will learn it tastes better. We will see tonight.

I sympathize with you about the breastfeeding. You think it would just come naturally…for both mom and baby… but it doesn’t seem to go that way. I had difficulties even with my near 10 lb baby. I allowed myself to get stressed with made it that much worse. Relax and let yourself, and Landon, enjoy the experience…even if the only outcome is some skin to skin contact. His little tummy will get filled up one way or another. Besides, it’s not the worst thing you can do to bottle feed your baby. As long as he continues to do as well as he has, all will be okay. I am so proud of all three of you and can’t wait to see you again. Kisses to your boys.

How wonderful that he spat it out!!! It shows how aware he is, how those little tastebuds work – it’s a miracle. He himself is a little miracle. All babies are miracles, but Landon is a very special miracle.

He looks very alert! It doesn’t take them long to know who mommy and daddy are. I am liking the photos without the feeding tube and the bottle feeding instead.
