Landon Begins a Transition

Today Landon weighed in at 1475 grams. He seems to be gaining weight like a big boy now and it definitely shows. More importantly, he began his transition today from his condo into an open-air crib bed. He is not in the bed yet, but could be there as early as tomorrow or perhaps by Thursday. Right now they are slowly lowering the temperature on his condo to match the NICU’s room air temp. Once he shows he can stay warm in blankets, they will transfer him to the open crib. Once there it will take a couple of days to see how well he continues to hold his temp. Our hopes are high as stability in an open-air crib means a few short days until home coming. So lets all route Landon on in holding his temp over the next several days.

Landon Begins a Transition — 4 Comments

  1. We wished it were just a few, but the earliest would probably be sometime next week…and then add more for time (maybe a week or two) if he can’t hold his temp. Either way, Landon will hopefully be home by Easter.

  2. Landon,
Tell your Grandmas that you need a soft handknit blanket to keep you warm. You deserve better than those hospital receiving blankets! If I had half the talent of your Grandmas I would make you one myself. Every time I see the name “Grandma” Connie it trips me out because I remember your Grandma from when me and your mom were little kids. I even remember your Grandma being pregnant and our fascination with your Auntie Katie when she was a baby (and still!). Boy how time flies! You are a lucky little man to have the loving family that you do and I hope you know that you are in the best of hands. Hurry home to everyone who awaits you….myself included!
    Love,
    Suzanne
